ChangNing Introduction

A downtown district in west Shanghai, Changning borders its peers if Jing’an to the east, Minghang to the west, Jiading to the northwest, Xuhui to the south and Putuo to the north over Suzhou Creek. Up to 37.19 square kilometers if land in its jurisdiction ranks it the 5th largest among downtown districts in Shanghai.

Following the reforms and opening drive in China, particularly the founding of the state-level Hongqiao Economic and Technological Development Zone here in 1986,Changning has attracted many overseas investors and expatriate professionals to settle down here o­n the merits of its fine transport infrastructure, nice ecology, profound cultural heritages and full-fledged community services.
Currently, Changning hosts 19 consulates and foreign-invested companies and representative offices in excess of 3,000, with about 6,000 households of 20,000 people in its expatriate population originally from 114 countries and regions. They have made Changning o­ne of the most global parts of the city.
Friends from around the world have brought not o­nly funds, technology and management know-how necessary for the development of Changning, but also diverse views from different cultures. ChangNing Traffic

Two international airports -Hongqiao in the west and Pudong in the east- links Shanghai with the rest of the world.
Spanning the whole of Changning, the Yan’an Elevated Road joins the Outer Ring Road to the west, linking the city with freeways to neighboring provinces of Jiangsu and Zhejiang.
Complete with Metro Line 2 and 3 as well as traffic arteries such as Changning Road, Hongqiao Road, Huashan Road, the Inner and Outer Ring roads, it’s easy to get around from Changning to many other districts in Shanghai.
During the 11th “Five-Years-Plan” period, the western extension of the Metro Line 2 and the Hong Qiao Transportation Hub Project will be done to further ease traffic.
The Hongqiao Composite Transportation Hub now the drawing board will integrate transport functions with the development of service industries, which is destined to make Changning a key link in the future development of such industries in Shanghai.

Modern Festivals
