The Palace Museum, known as the Forbidden City, is located in the center of Beijing. Twenty-four emperors of Ming and Qing dynasties ruled from the Forbidden City. It was the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties (from 1368 A.D. to 1911 A.D.), and was converted into a museum. There is an axle line running from south to north of the palace, and it is also the axle of Beijing. The architectures standing o­n the axle line are: Hall of Supreme Harmony, Hall of Complete Harmony, Hall of Preserving Harmony, Palace of Heavenly Purity, Palace of Earthly Tranquility, Palace of Benevolent Peace and the Imperial Garden. The residential area is centered o­n the Palace of Heavenly Purity, Hall of Union, Palace of Earthly Tranquility, flanked by the six palaces o­n the east and west. Each corner of towers in the Palace museum has a pretty turret which adding refinement to the museum. The surrounding wall is 10 meters high And 3400 meters long. Nowadays, some comprehensive museums are established in the Palace of Museum, such as Museum of Art History, Art Gallery. And some classified museum such as Pottery and Porcelain Exhibition Hall, Bronze Exhibition Hall, Ming and Qing Dynasties’ Arts And Crafts Exhibition Hall, the Museum of Four Treasures Study, Gold and Jade Articles Exhibition Hall, Museum of Clocks etc. There are 1,052,653 pieces of rare collections which accounting for 1/6 of all cultural relics of China. The most attractive constructions in the Palace Museum are the Hall of Supreme Harmony, the Hall of Complete (Middle) Harmony and the Hall of Preserving Harmony. Its common name is The Hall of Imperial Zenith. The ceremony was always held at the Hall of Supreme Harmony.
