Located in the exit of Qinhe River, 15 km away from northeastern Jiyuan City, Wu Long Kou scenic spots are adjacent to the noted Taoist mountain--Wangwu Mountain. You may get here through good transport and enjoy the picturesque scenery and the places of interest. The Taihang monkey and the terrestrial heat are richly endowed by nature. With 68 sceneries of nature and humanity, it was ranked 4A Scenery spot in the year of 2002.
Boasting a long history, Wu Long Kou scenic spot is an orographical spot taking natural scenery as the main spot, featured with macaque and hot spring. It was distributed in pieces, most of which is natural landscape scenery. The main spots can be divided into 5 seemingly paralleled spots from the south to north. Seen from the west to east, they are Pangu spot, Qinhe River spot, Hot Spring spot, Chouergou spot, and Baijiagou Yangluoshan spot, which naturally form a interdependent pattern between mountain and river, ranging between high and low, rise and fall, tamper force and mercy, and yin and yang. The environment and style differ in each spot.
The best season to Wulongkou scenic area is spring and autumn.

Wulongkou scenic area is divided into five scenic spots in different styles, Hot spring, Pangu, Qin River, Chouergou and Baijiangou. Characterized by natural sceneries, macaques and hot springs, it is the macaque preservation area of national level with 12 groups of over 3,000 macaques. Its natural sceneries such as its majestic mountains and valleys, old fancy cypresses and springs are really worthy of watching.
Sights of Animals and Plants
In Wulongkou scenic spot, there live some macaque tribes which are special animal sights in this area. Wulongkou macaques, now called Taihang macaques, are state protected animals of Grade two. There are 9 groups with a total number of over 3,000 living in the area. The documents indicate Taihang Mountains are the northern end of macaques in China. It is rather cold here in winter. Living in large groups, macaques here are strong with short tail. They are good at climbing and imitating and move swiftly. Now macaque watching has become o­ne of the most popular traveling items in the world. The China Macaque Garden built in 2000 integrates macaque watching with scientific study and amusement performance. The domesticated macaques can play simple calculations, such as plus, minus. Moreover, they can walk o­n the rope, play basketball, ride a bicycle and perform other amusing acrobatic programs. In addition, there live other animals in the scenic spot, such as eagles, golden pheasants, wild goats, hares and many others, especially scorpions, which can be used as raw material of Chinese medicines. The scenic spot is covered by secondary forest which is composed of various plants, such as silver chains, arborvitaes, Chinese mahogang, grapevines, etc.
Human Cultural Sight
1.The Ancient Cultural Site
2 kilometers to the southeast of Wulongkou, at the south bank of Qin River, there is a highland which has escaped numerous floodings in history and has never been submerged. Documents indicate that there are cultural sites of Yangshao and Longshan. In the 3 meter thick soil of the land are buried prehistoric relics. During the Tang Dynasty, prime minister Pei Xiu built a garden here, which brought the land to the peak.
Just opposite to the highland, in the vicinity of Liu village at the north bank of Qin River, site of Yangshao culture was also found. These sites indicate that there are people living in this area before the history of human beings.
2.The Jing Hao Exhibition Hall
Jing Hao, styled Haoran, assumedly named Hongguzi, was born in Wulongkou, Jiyuan. As a master painter of Chinese landscapes, he absorbed and developed the painting skills of Wu Daozi and Xiang Rong, both are famous painters in Chinese history. His proposition of sketching of real scenery has strong influence o­n later generations.
