Introduction
Shitang Town, an old fishing village, was called formerly Shitang Mountain. Fisher of Huian County, Fujian Province resided here because they saw the beautiful view and rich aquatic resources when avoiding the strong storm at sea. The town covers an area of 16.26 square kilometers, is rich in historic sites, and has many beautiful seaside vistas and scenic spots. There are stone houses, stone streets, stone lanes and stone stairs of various forms. The stone houses are cool in summer and warm in winter. Though suffering from hit of strong typhoon for hundreds years, these stone houses stand o­n the seaside firmly.

Many tourists come here and Shitang becomes a famous coastal scenic spot in the southeast of Zhejiang since China Daylight of Millennium Festival and China New Century Daylight Festival were held o­n the first day of January, 2000. The scenery of Shitang features sunshine, sea island, beach, stone views and culture of south of Fujian. There is Former Residence of Chen Helong and Palace of Goddess of Heaven, Stone Castle Building, like the old castle in the European Medieval Age. It is also famous because the first daylight of the new millennium shone here o­n the mainland of China.
